Commercial Restaurant Chairs

We test the whole chair, not the seat. Most suppliers quote a seat-load figure, which tells you how much weight the seat pan will take and nothing about the joints, the legs or the back. We test the complete chair — frame, joints and legs — under 150 kg static load with the load applied to the seat and back assembly. For a restaurant that replaces chairs every two years, the joint is what fails first, so the joint is what the test should cover.

Upholstery is a cleaning decision before it is a design decision. Decide the cleaning routine first: wiped down daily, steam-cleaned weekly, or vacuumed only. Daily wiping suits PU or microfibre. Weekly steam suits a removable cover in a tight weave. A fixed fabric cover in a room that gets wiped with sanitiser every night will fail at the seams long before the foam does.

Seat height. 450 mm and 460 mm are the two standard restaurant seat heights, matched to a 750 mm table. Bar stools are 750 mm at the seat, matched to a 1050 mm counter. Seat height and table height have to be specified together — a 480 mm chair at a 720 mm table puts the guest's knees against the apron.

Materials. Solid ash and beech for frames that will be sanded and refinished after five years. Powder-coated steel where the chair will be dragged rather than lifted. Moulded polypropylene for high-turnover restaurant floors where the cleaning routine is a hose and a cloth. Hand-woven rattan on an aluminium frame for covered terraces, where the humidity would move a timber frame. Confirm the exact frame material, joint type, foam density and cover specification on the approved sample.

Quantity and lead time. MOQ is 6 pcs per chair model. Production runs 15–30 days after the approved sample. Sampling takes 15 days and we do not charge a sampling fee; one round of revision is included.

What we do not do. We do not supply banquet or conference seating. If your project needs stacking banquet chairs for a function room, we will say so and point you elsewhere rather than quote something we do not build.
