Quality & Compliance

What we test, what we can document, and what we do not hold. Written plainly, because a buyer who finds an exaggerated claim on a website stops trusting the rest of it.

01 — Whole-chair load testing

150 kg static load, tested on the complete chair. The load is applied to the seat and back assembly of the assembled chair, so the test covers the frame, the joints and the legs — not just the seat pan. Most suppliers quote a seat-load figure, which tells you nothing about the joint that actually fails first in a restaurant.

This is our own test, not a third-party certificate. If your project requires a certified test to BIFMA X5.1 or EN 16139, tell us before the order and we will quote a third-party test on the specific model rather than imply we already hold one.

02 — Material testing

Solid ash timber — REACH Annex XVII. Tested for restricted substances under REACH Annex XVII. Report No. COBO25090114, issued 3 September 2025. The scope of this report covers lead (Pb) and cadmium (Cd) only; it is not a full SVHC screen and we do not present it as one.

PU leather — REACH-SVHC heavy metals. Tested by ICP-OES to IEC 62321-5 for restricted heavy metals under REACH-SVHC. Report No. ZTS26070714JCC, issued 13 July 2026. This is a material test report, not a CE certificate.

Both reports are available on request. The certificates are only valid together with their full test reports, which we can send on request.

03 — What we do not hold

CE markingNot held. Furniture is not a CE-marked product category under the directives we are asked about. Any supplier showing a CE certificate for a dining chair is usually showing a material test report.
BIFMA X5.1 certificationNot held. We test to 150 kg whole-chair static load. We do not describe that as BIFMA testing.
EN 16139 / EN 12520Not held. Third-party testing to these standards can be quoted per order.
CA117 / BS 5852 fire retardancyNot held for upholstered items. If your market requires it, tell us before the order; we will quote the appropriate material rather than claim compliance.
FSC certificationNot held. FSC-certified timber may be available on request, subject to supply at the time of order.
ISO 9001Not held. Quality control is in-house and documented per order.

04 — Factory verification

SGS on-site factory inspection, valid to 30 July 2026. Factory visits are welcome by appointment.

05 — Inspection and packing

Every order is inspected against the approved drawing before packing: dimensions, material, finish, hardware and assembly fit. Inspection takes two days. Third-party inspection before shipment is welcome and we will cooperate with the inspector.

Packing depends on the item and the destination. Chairs are packed to protect the frame and the cover; tables are usually shipped with the top and base separately packed, which costs more to assemble on site but travels better.

06 — Warranty

One year on the complete product against manufacturing defects, excluding normal wear and tear, misuse and damage caused by the user.

Structural components remain available as spare parts beyond the warranty period. We ship the parts; the freight is on the buyer's account. This matters more than the warranty length in practice, because the failure in year three is usually a joint or a foot, not the whole chair.

Claims are answered within two working days. For small-value defects we will ship a replacement part rather than ask for the item to be returned.

07 — How to ask us for evidence

Ask for the report number. Every claim we make on this site carries one: COBO25090114 for the ash timber test, ZTS26070714JCC for the PU leather test. If a supplier cannot give you a document number, the claim is not verifiable.
